Description

This agreement is made between the Forestry Commission (Peninsula District) and the GAGB (Geocaching Association of Great Britain).

The Forestry Commission South West England have said caches within the Peninsula Forest District* may be placed without obtaining prior permission as long as certain guidelines are observed. There are some areas where caching is not allowed for reasons which include archaeological features, shooting rights or it is leased out to another landowner. Please also note there are restrictions on the type and size of the container. A link to a downloadable map of those areas where caching is NOT allowed.

Guidelines

Please note the following:
  1. GAGB guidelines must be applied
  2. Neither the Peninsula FC or GAGB will be responsible for any cache destroyed.
  3. Caches are to be made of plastic with secured lid. Secured means a well fitting lid. Under no circumstances must elastic bands be used for this purpose. Caches must be a minimum of 100 millilitres, to avoid danger of swallowing by stock and wild animals.
  4. We have been granted this agreement on the basis that cachers will apply common sense to their activities. This agreement will rely on the goodwill of all concerned for continuation.
Appendices
Maps of all Forestry Commission woodlands have been provided as appendices. These show all the woodlands under Forestry Commission management covered by the Peninsula district.
