View Full Version : Smiley tooltips?

Would it be possible to have tooltips or some such on the message posting pages to say exactly what each smiley is intended to convey? I realise that there are tooltips for smileys in the posts themselves, but it would be nice to be able to see them when choosing a smiley whilst posting a message. Perhaps I'm being dense, but some of them are quite similar, and I don't want to use one somewhere that has some subtle shade of meaning that I'm unaware of!

Hi Bill,

I agree with you.

The software is incredibly powerful and has some very advanced facilities.

The one thing I cannot find out how to do is very basic, turn on tool tips for the smilies !

Sheesh !

I will continue to work on it but don't expect quick results because it looks like I will have to modify the program itself, not a minor task.

There are a few other things I'm not happy with, and most of them you would expect to already be present (e.g. a link back to the GAGB website !).

Onwards and upwards.

Thanks for the information! I didn't realise that it would be such a major problem to do. Not to worry, I daresay I'll learn their meanings soon enough! :)

In any case, I've just realised that I can check their meanings by previewing my posts. :D

Usually, anyway. I'm not too sure about ph34r... ;)

Perhaps, just perhaps ...

 = "Peek-a-Boo"

or

 = Dan & Pid, night caching by torchlight

You need to change the software to put two leading zeros before your number
