Hi, had an idea that we should produce a quarterly newsletter email that would be sent to members.

We could put a few articles, stories, news, things that people may have missed by not visiting too often etc. then email then to the member list.

What do people think?

I think that's a really great idea. Not just a good way to spread news, but also a way to promote the good work of the GAGB. :socool:

Happy to have any other ideas as it's just something that I'm pondering.

Then I just need to find someone who can use desktop publishing or learn how to use it myself

Have played with MS Publisher, quite easy to do layouts, just needs any stuff to be included to be sent in MS Word, Wordpad or Notepad format. I could then convert it into PDF format for sending out.
Be happy to help out.

Please send in plain text, or as you say PDF.
I HATE .DOC docs with avengance!

Or... email a link to an area on the website, so we can either read or download.

As has been suggested in this topic and the Committee only one. The possibility of having the news letter on the site somewhere. How about when the new letter becomes active it is restricted to members only but at the same time the previous news letter is opened up to non members.

Seconded.
The newsletters I subscribe to through work (and the weekly one from Groundspeak) come as plain text and links, and let me decide which bits I want to download and read :D
