Being of the 'Senior Age Group' I always use Imperial. The only metric unit I use voluntarily is ºC, other than that I always use Imperial from first choice.

I use kilometers when walking, but miles when driving...

gps/mm/GS all set up for imperial.

So mostly (99%) imperial, but when I get close I sometimes tend to switch back to meters.
ie, ~300 feet = ~football pitch = ~100 meters etc...
this doesnt happen always tho

note, I'm foreign, brought up with the metric system.

For distance - always imperial

For temperature - cold - metric
- hot - imperial
