I've got a 4Gb microSD card in my Oregon550. I can't see that you'd want anything bigger! One thing to mention is that 'high speed' SD cards are not required - these have a 'series' reference, for example Series 6. The speed refers to the how fast data can be written to the card not read from it. Your GPS is only reading data so buying a more expensive high speed card is a false economy.

We're trying to find a good/cheap source of mapping cards for the Oregon 300. Any suggestions?

Or are you after somewhere to buy the cards from?

When you say a cheap source of mapping cards, do you mean cheap maps or cheap cards? microSD cards aren't expensive at about £5 for a 4Gb one. As for maps.... you'll find things like the Garmin Discoverer OS maps are much the same price anywhere. The free maps from Talkytoaster mentioned above are well worth it!

or you could always produce your own Custom Maps at 1:25000 scale using Mobile Atlas Creator (http://mobac.sourceforge.net/)
