Any cross-stitchers out there?

Natalie Oliver (Ladybird) and Tina Salmon (Sonatellas) have created a TB race for cross-stitched chickens.

If you're interested all you have to do is stitch a small chicken (they have a simple pattern), mount it in some way, attach a TB and release it into any cache on 19th March. They are supposed to stay within UK.

The winner is the chicken with the most mileage before the Mega event and they're hoping that some of the chickens will actually end up at the event.

Further details here: The Great Chicken Race (http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#%21/home.php?sk=group_114202235325052&ap=1)

Sounds like fun.

Almost inspires me to take up a new hobby.

Are there any other unusual things like this?

There's a TB Race running in the combined NWCaching (http://nwcaching.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=e813c2ffc152d90d0f55d3f57cabd020) and SECaching (http://www.secaching.co.uk/forum/index.php?sid=2e4ed8d5f6099a3b4f132d4b3ad0613f) forums but you've missed the start of that one for 2011. they may do it again next year.
I've also got a TB in The Great South Africa TB Race (https://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=256222).

You just have to keep your eyes open for them. Sometimes a few caching friends will just set up a small race among themselves. A friend and I have got a geocoin each racing from land's End to John O'Groats at the moment.

I'm sure that you could probably join in if you ask nicely! :D Some of the racers will obviously have a head start, but the leader's only visited three checkpoints so far... :dunno:
