I just thought I'd let everyone know that Guildford Borough Council are happy for geocaches to be placed :D - I received this lovely email reply to my request for permission:

Hello,

You are more than welcome to put out geocaches on Parks and Countryside sites, indeed, there are already loads of them in place as I’ve come across them while doing volunteer work!

As far as we are concerned its another great reason to get people out onto our sites!

Obviously it they are placed in trees and we undertake tree works we will not make provision to hold onto the geocache but I would imagine this would be reported missing by the next person looking for it via your website.

Best Wishes

Alison

It's good to see someone taking such a relaxed and welcoming view to caches being placed on their land! :)

Well done and thanks, I've added this to GLAD here. (https://www.gagb.org.uk/agreement_view.php?p=122)

One of the best things for me is that there's an acceptance that some caches might get accidentally destroyed by their staff if they're not well placed (i.e. in trees that get regularly maintained).
Which demonstrates an understanding of geocaching beyond the norm, in that she realises that we can sort out our own problems and don't need a lot of paperwork for this trivial pursuit.
