Hi,
We are developing a photo-based treasure hunting game called Sighter - with a similar philosophy to geocaching.
It went live in the App Store this week - it's still a bit in an early stage, but if you have a chance to try it, we would love to hear your feedback!
More info here:
sighter.co.uk (http://sighter.co.uk/)
Outside of London it's quite possible that there won't be any treasures yet, but you are free to create your own, and challenge your friends around!
We hope you have fun!
Best regards,
Attila

Despite the fact that Android phones are now more popular than the i(rip u off)Phones, the users are still treated as second class phone users by developers.
If they can't bring out both versions at the same time I am afraid that I never support them when they eventually bring out the Android version.

We are working on the Android version, it's coming at the end of March.
You can follow it on Facebook/SighterGame.

But why not wait and release both together.

But why not wait and release both together.
We consider this launch as a public beta, and we would like to get feedback as soon as possible to be able to improve the gameplay.
Android users can view it from another point: they will get better experience from the beginning, thanks to the earlier test bunnies :)
(Otherwise: we've started to develop first for Android - however we run into loads of problems due to the device fragmentation. This is one of the main reason why some developers seems to prefer IOS first.)

Dear Android users,
We are looking for volunteers who would like to try Sighter (http://sightergame.com/)
Please send us an email to hello@sightergame.com if you are interested.
We also made a quick intro video about it:

What do you think about it?
Any feedback is welcome!

I can see it might be fun if you live in a city, but unfortunately (or fortunately!) I'm not :(

I have downloaded and will give it a try. Think it's a good idea. Might discuss this on the next UK Geocaching Podcast with the developers permission.

I have downloaded and made my first sight but think I have found a small bug- it doesn't show the picture I took so not sure if others can see it or not. Closed the app but it is still not showing the photo. I am running an iPhone 4 on ios7.

Sorry, I've just seen this post now
We talked already with SurfaBoy, for the others: this issue is fixed already.

Since I can't see an overview on the site itself, I was wondering how big this is in the UK. I'm also having to place this technology in comparision with e.g. Wherigo or an other Augmented Reality technology.

I haven't had a play of this game since the Android release came out. Just taken another look at it and it seems to have taken off somewhat around my area (Central Cotswolds).
When I first looked at it there were none to find around my area and so I and a couple of others placed one or two for each other to find, now the map is saying there are 26 in our town and see others placed in the surrounding areas. I look forward to going out to find some of these.
