Hi,
I'm trying to get my head around Pocket Queries. Is it possible to download caches as a particular series/power trail of caches. Or is it only possible to download the PQ's for a particular area thereby taking in all of the caches in that area:dunno: I've tried to find the answer to this through the gc.com site without success. Thanks for your input.

Good question, but I can't really answer!! I just download PQ's by area.

The best way to sort a PQ is by using GSAK (http://www.gsak.net/), although it isn't free, it allows you to download to your GPSr the caches you want.

There are even macros to help you sorting through the data, one (http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=9585) of these will find a series/trail.

Only if you add them all to a bookmark list and create the PQ from the list. Often you'll be fortunate and someone else will have created the list so you could run it straight from their hard work!
It is now possible for paying members of Project GC to create PQs on the site. If the title of the series is reasonably unique, a wildcard search may well give you all the caches which you would then send to your "virtual gps" and download to PQ from there.
However I'd be worried about missing other caches on or near to the trail if I didn't run my PQ (or GSAK search) by area.

Thanks for the input folks. It's just that I have been doing caches recently by series and I wondered whether there was a quick easy way to sort and download them.

On my resource site (http://www.follow-the-arrow.co.uk/resources/default.shtml) you'll find a couple of useful pages. The one on Paperless caching explains about PQ's, creating and downloading them and then transferring them to the GPS (Garmin or Magellan). You don't need any third party programs to do this just a PC and the GPS. The page Bookmark Lists is a long list of bookmarks others have created for all types of caches, series, themed caches etc. So you can create a PQ from it (button at the bottom of the list).
