GAGB Constitution Change proposal, June 2018

This is a cross-posting of the notice given to members last week.

All members will receive a ballot on Friday to approve changes to the GAGB constitution. We've been consulting since January, and this is the result. The proposed changes are attached here as a courtesy to non-members who are interested, and also for any members who have forgotten their login details (you can get a reminder sent).

Small change..?

You refer to Independent Returning Officer but then have IRC Should it be IRO?


N - Elections

6a. Voting will normally be carried out by email or online
ballot to an independent Returning Officer (IRC)
appointed by the Executive Committee, but the
Executive Committee shall be empowered to have voting
carried out by other means.

6b. Circumstances in which the Executive Committee
may do this shall include, but are not limited to, a failure
to find a suitable IRC.

6c. The IRC is not required to issue ballots to Inactive
Members as defined under clause E3d as of 24 hours
before voting starts for the relevant ballot. The IRC may,
at their discretion, subsequently issue ballets to such
members who become ‘active’ before the ballot ends.

That's a good find. It doesn't change the meaning so I will amend it prior to the formal ballot going out. THANK YOU for helping us get this right! :cool:

The emails have gone out to all members. If you can't see yours, here are some tips.

Look in spam. If it is there, add us to your safe senders list or contacts.

Did you join GAGB using a different email? Look there. If that's the problem then come back here and edit your profile.

Wait until morning. Sometimes there is a delay but it won't be that long.

Maybe you clicked unsubscribe some time ago? Email us for a manual reset if you think that's it. Or maybe you unticked the emails box in your profile?
