Work on the migration of the GAGB forums is about to start. During the
early phases of this work, access to the current forums will remain
unaffected. However it is possible that you may see spurious e-mails to
the e-mail address registered with the GAGB forums. Such e-mail will
appear to come from forum.geocache.org.uk and is as a result of migration
of existing data. No action need be taken on your part.

Hi Bill,
In view of what is currently being discussed on the main gc.com forums is it possible for you to set up regional discussion boards/sections? There clearly seems to be a demand for it.
I'm sure it would encourage more people to join if we promote it on the main website. :)

Judging by the reaction of this idea on the main forums I wish I kept me gob shut and stayed in my darkened room with the straitjacket on
Sorry if the idea caused annoyance to some people - I thought I was being helpful

don't worry.
speaking for myself i'd rather hear all ideas than have anyone holding back for fear of upsetting someone elsewhere. :)

Test forums are already in place and working well, but there are, perhaps inevitably, a few little glitches to sort out before the move. All being well, the move will take place very late evening one day this week. The reason for doing it late is that it'll apparently take about 30 minutes for the transfer to take place, and the forums will be unavailable during that time.

Trouble is, round here the longer you wait to migrate, the more bugs find their way into your nest...
Best we get going!!

Our webmasters are still working on a few little teething troubles, but everything's moving on and the new forums should be up and running soon. If all goes well the changeover should be seamless - you'll log in one day and just see the same forums but with a completely new look...!

Is the whole site being migrated over? Only when I tried to link to the GLAD regarding cache permission I got a error page :o. And I don't seem to be the only one who can't access the main pages either.

The problems with gagb.org.uk were sorted early this morning. Apparently they were due to a php upgrade by our web host.
Yes, the whole site is being migrated, but gagb.org.uk is still in the testing stage - the one to use is gagb.org.uk.
