    Default Off to Mevagissey

Ok i did not post early enough last time so at the end of the six weeks hols we are off to Cornwall (Mavagissey to be precise).

The closest cache to where we are staying is

    https://www.geocaching.com/seek/cach...3-d09991a51f1f

The google map centred on Mevagissey is here

    https://www.geocaching.com/map/defau...8&lng=-5.15563

Bookmark lists recomendations etc all gratefully recieved.

So lets start at what we like from a cache.

    So

    1. Multi cache or long walk to a traditional

    2. Medium or large container (at the end)

    3. Terrain of 2.5 or above (this is flexible as some people overate and some people underrate their caches) experience has taught us just who is likely to go which way in general in the local area

    4. Difficulty of 2 or above again flexible as some are over and some are under rated.

    5. Is not on our ignore list. Again experience has taught us to avoid certain shall we say cache setters caches.

    6. Within two hours drive of base

Now these are not hard and fast rules and we will and do do the easier traditionals and multis that are closer to home.

One thing we all agree on is that puzzles are for IQ tests not cache pages (unless we know the answers that is!) even so we will occasionally make the effort to solve some of the higher terrain ones as we like the physical challenges esp if going on holiday in the area (race the clock for example).

So not hard and fast rules just some general guidelines we follow and definitely not set in stone. Its not that we always cache that way it is the way we prefer to cache given the time to do so.

Types of caches we don’t like are what are called power trails with no variety. A series of caches on a long path that are all just film canisters by the side of the path and do nothing more than boost numbers are a real bore for us, however a series of ingeniously hidden film canisters on the same trail all log-gable (or in a multi) would be of great interest to us.

We will also try to do any 5/5's in reach of the base.
Edit to add long trads to likes oops !
