    Default What have we missed?

Hello, we're old but new!! Joined caching back in 2005 but have had a couple of years off, only to rediscover the etrex today and think what the hell and well one cache later and our revised team are back in the game!

So we wondered whether our old Etrex Legend was still ok to get out there with, or will we be laughed out of the forums & fields?!

What else we may have missed? apart from a lot of good caching!! We're planning to make a good effort but distances and terrain are limited for a little while as 7months pregnant!

hello to all xxx Zoe, Jamie (human members), Charlie Parker & Nanuq (canine members)

Welcome back, Don't worry you'll get no more stick about the etrex now than you got back on 2005 ie lots

There's been a few problems but all in all the sport/hobby is pretty much as it was with nothing to stop you from just getting back into it.

though i guess a little slowly with frequent stops

Don't know where CharlieParker lives, but for many places in the UK I would guess the main difference would be the recent explosion in the number of caches!

Welcome back to the real (?) world!

As amberel said, the main difference you're going to find is the explosion in the number of new caches...! In 2005 you probably had to go some distance to find new caches - now, you're going to be falling over them on your doorstep!

Thanks guys, seems we have indeed had cache explosion, last night we only had to wander down the road and tonight just up the road for a couple more under the belt! I feel the tupperware addiction rising! and the dogs are loving it!

There are a lot more caches (and cachers) and a lot fewer local reviewers h34r:

We manage perfectly well with our e-trex, it may be a bit long in the tooth but at least we have no teething problems

There are a few more geocoins around than there used to be...also, I don't know about your home area but there are many more "sophisticated" caches around now (with elaborate puzzles, tricky hides etc.). As well as more of the old-fashioned tried-and-tested types. And plenty of micros!
