    Default A quick question..

A quick question (or several) to Bill or any of the other committe members who might be able to help me

When the time comes around again for me to advertise my calendars (dont worry it wont be for a while yet )

On the GAGB am I allowed to advertise my calendars?

Am I allowed to name the charity the proceeds will go to?

Am I allowed to say the price of the calendars?

And can I link to a Just Giving page where the money for the calendars can be paid?

Many thanks in advance for any information

    Mandy

Although I'm not an "insider" I would hope that the answers would be "yes" to all of them. Mind you, I don't think it worthwhile asking the same questions "over there"! h34r:

    Yes.

    >>Am I allowed to name the charity the proceeds will go to?

    Yes.

    Yes.

    >>And can I link to a Just Giving page where the money for the calendars can be paid?

    Yes.

Provided it's all for charity, and I know that is the case, then it's just, well, yes...!

Thanks very much for the information

I am going to post on a few of the smaller regional forums, I think I should be OK with most of them..

Oh another couple of questions for maybe Peter or Dave ..

Do the words Geocaching or Geocachers belong to GC.Com ?

Could my calendars still be Geocaching Calendars or Geocachers Calendars?

And what about a picture/avatar for the calendars, obviously I wont be able to use Signal the Frog or the GC logo, but if someone draws a logo or a Signal the Frog is that still copyright?

    Hi Mandy,

Groundspeak don't own the term geocaching or geocachers. So yes your calendars could still be called geocaching calendars as thats what they are.

You could try the link below for some free to use public domain geocaching logos

Public Domain Geocaching Logos (link opens in another browser)

Its good to see common sense prevailing on here.:coffee:

Oh theres loads and loads of logos on there thanks Ian

So can I use any of those without the risk of being "sued" or would it be nicer to email the owner of the logo and ask if I could use it on a calendar?

And I can call it an Geocachers/Geocaching Calendar

Reminds me of the first words dodgydaved said to me at the Mega Event "don't let the b******s get you down" "oh hello you must be Mandy"

I think we will get along just fine using the regional forums...who needs the big boys

Maybe some clever techy person such as Ian could make me a logo..

I like the one just shaped in a G but would maybe like it in red white and blue for UK

    Hint hint

There you go. Quite a challenge to get it looking decent as you lose most of the dragon with this type of design. I hope it's still recognisable.

I have asked in 6 forums to advertise my calendars all have said yes no problem

Plus I can use the words Geocaching Calendar/Geocachers Calendar plus Ian has made me a smart avartar, all goes to prove I am not as beholding to GC.com as I thought I was about the calendars.

I cant get into SW NW or the Yorkshire sites they have probably banned me

I will try to find out the owners and email them asking if I can advertise in their forums.

Thanks to everyone for their help and information :socool:

Or, don't advertise in those forums, just post a note pointing over to here...

(Then you only need to write it all the one time!)
