Thread: Any radio hams on here?

Default Any radio hams on here?

There is a similar thread on "the other side", but seems to be very US oriented..
I've been a "ham" for about 20 years on and off, and have recently started up again.. Call me nosey, but I am intrigued how many hams chase tupperware or lesser spotted film pot!!!
I am usually lurking around 7.0700 from about 19:00, maybe hear you there..?

    Cheers,
    PAUL.

I'm G7SNW but in truth, I haven't played on air for quite a few years. I know Hi-Tek (Keith, formally of The Motley Crew) has recently got his ticket but I don't know his call sign.

There's my mate G7GUO local to me in High Wycombe. I am sure many many more out there, great to see a UK thread appear. I think there's probably a good number of cbers from the 4x4 world.

I think there's a few sota enthusiasts, as you have the advantage of bagging trigs as well as geocaches. It's not something I've tried yet, maybe in the new year

    G1SQY - I've been off-air for a number of years though.

When I was active I was a member of the Spen Valley ARC.

I'll almost certainly go back on air one day but, I need to drop one or more of my other hobbies first.

Don't remember the Spen Valley club. I was a founder member of the Leeds& District ARC in the early 80s.

Your callsign certainly rings a bell... I wouldn't be surprised to find that we may have chatted on NA or thereabouts.

Purely co-incidentally, I bumped into G4YDI (Roy) the other day, he was telling me that Spen Valley ARC is still running and still holds its meetings at Old Bank WMC in Mirfield.

For anyone that's interested, SV ARC meetings are held on first Thursday of the month.

Went through the list and came up with the following, note all GB and non UK are excluded:

    G7ALW / M0SGB / M1 EYO / GW7 ODP / 2W1HFZ / G0 EMS / 2E1DHP / G7 SNW / G6 YCL / G6 DDQ / M0 GEO / M6 ELF / M6 YEY / G0 ERS / G6 MVL / G1 ANT / M3 MCF / 2E0 MAL / M1 TWO / G6 DDS (we must taken have the same exam series) / G1 SQY

If I have ommitted anyone or got the callsign wrong my apologies

GWEN G6 DDQ (No SOTA :socool:433 M/cs and above only)
