    Default BBC radio

Both BBC Oxford and Birmingham have contacted us asking if there are any geocachers that would be willing to show a reporter how to geocache and be willing to do a short item.

    Any takers?

Here's a quote that explains what she's looking for:

"I really want to talk to someone who does it and the reasons why and how it works. We do a very relaxed, conversational programme, looking at the person behind the hobby...so it would need to be someone who was a good talker. I could come along to an event if it was Oxfordshire and record with people to feed into the piece as well"

I think that we may have takers for both of these so thanks to them and the others for thinking about it, if we need other victims i'll post again.

    Default Update for Radio Oxford

Cristina Parry, the producer in question in Oxford, attended my event last evening and interviewed several local cachers, including me after some swine who was previously my friend dobbed me in as a little fat bloke that can talk a bit

JP knows I will get my own back ... h34r:

The upshot is Cristina has invited me to do a live peice on the afternoon of the 20th April and then to present this on the stations blog. If I am not too embarassed or humilitated by the output I will post a link here after that time.

How is it progressing in the Birmingham area?

I put myself forward for Birmingham and contacted the guy from the details provided by nobby, but they haven't got back to me. There were 2 volunteers, so maybe I came second (or should that be last? :-)

If I hear anything I'll post again!

I've emailed the Birmingham BBC to find out if there's a problem.

And had a quick reply saying that all is in hand and that he'll be in contact when he has the time.

The mug was called the commander in cheif of caching in oxfordshire someone told me afterwards .. god knows why Mad Hater told them that one

The interveiw wasnt too bad and the overall article sounded good with Becks from thehoomer and Steveo185 gnashing their gums a lot at my event last month.

Will stick a link to the edited mp3 they are sending me as soon as it arrives.

BBC Oxford presenter Jo Theones (Proc, Tune -is) expressed an interest after the interveiw in coming out for a hunt and maybe setting a BBC Oxford cache as an additional link to the show and to Geocaching.

I think that's a great write-up, and shows caching in a really good light! Well done JollyJax and all those boozers in the pub!
