    Welcome to caching!

Start with easy ones until you've got the hang of it - on geocaching.com caches are rated for difficulty and terrain, from one star to five, five being the most difficult. Go for ones with a low difficulty rating, and preferably ones that have got a hint that you can use if necessary.

And you might do best to start with small, medium or large containers - micros can sometimes be a real pain to find!

And your nine-year-old will probably love it!

I'm new too! Got my GPS thingy for my birthday today, can't wait to get out and start seeking.
