S2693 Fort Rowner open day

The dates for this year's Heritage Open Days are now out, and Rowner is Sat 12 Sept. See link for times & details.

S2693 sits (or sat) on the roof visible from outside but not reachable

TUK user martinc gained access to the trig last year: hopefully it'll be available this year too. I notice however someone has suggested the pillar may have subsequently gone...

I'm not sure I can make it this year but hopefully it'll be run in 2010 too. Good luck to anyone who attends, and let us know how it goes. And be sure to take a torch :-)

Thanks for the alert Rob.

I had a look through some of the listings to see if there was anything else of trig significance. The only other item I could find was RAF Holmpton near Withernsea
but from the logs on TP:UK, that one doesn't seem to be particularly difficult anyway.

Its disappointing that English Heritage fail to recognise the cultural importance of our secure reservoirs :
