    Default Cache density

Been posting on t'other forums about cache density. Thought I would post here, as I have now been taught how to upload a piccy......and since I uploaded it over there, no-one has posted since!! The piccy is from Jan 2002. See how little the caches covered the country!

And if I remember correctly, the caches in green are the newest caches for that week!! Wish I'd taken more screenshots of the maps!

    Yes I'd forgotten that.

We logged on every day to check the new caches and see if they were within travelling distance. At the point in time of your map, we were printing every new cache listing for a folder which travelled in the car!

Checking your map more closely, I can see "our" cluster

Well I found my first caches in December 02 and from memory there was not many more around to be found.

In fact if memory serves me right mid 2006 there was only around 3,500 active caches in the whole of the UK. A busy day for the whole of the UK back then was maybe 15-20 caches midweek, I'd hate to think what the average for a busy midweek day is now .

We started right at the beginning of 2005 and we were incredibly excited that one of the relatively few caches was within walking distance of our house. I naively thought that my (then) boss would be equally impressed when I was explaining what geocaching was all about. It just served to confirm his suspicions that I was a nutter
