ActiveSync alternative

I've been using ActiveSync since we started paperless caching some time ago but one thing that really bugs me about it is that it keeps changing fron manual sync to auto sync and when it does this it sometimes (I think) crashes MemoryMap and I know it also reduces battery life.

So, is there a better alternative that others have used, that is as easy to use as ActiveSync (as I'm no software wizz) and reliable?

If you are running vista, you could try Windows Mobile Device Centre. I use it to load and sync to my pda and it's very easy to use.I don't know if it will run on any other system than Vista.

Nope, just good ol' XP, but thanks for the tip anyway. I might have a bit of a google over the w/e, if I get time, and see what I come up with.

Cheap, but not free, is EasySync.

This syncs files only, (ie not contacts into outlook and so on) but will sync to anywhere on the device or the sd card, which is very useful!
