    Default Bill D

I've chatted to Bill who's been unwell for some time now. He's on the mend but doesn't feel able to continue to stand as chairman of the committee.

He's asked me to post this thread as he has no internet access at this point.

We are in contact with him, I've obviously passed him all of our best wishes.

We're really sorry to see Bill step down but obviously it's important that he gets better.

    All the best, Bill.

Having worked very closely with Bill over the last 3 1/2 years, I can honestly say that his standing down is going to leave a big hole to be filled as Chairman of the GAGB.

I'd like to thank him for the fantastic amount of work he has done for the whole community, and in particular the support he has given the UK Reviewers.

Wishing you a speedy recovery mate :socool:, and hopefully we'll get to actually meet in person one day

    Once again thank you

Very glad to hear Bill's on the mend (Get well soon Bill).
Having spoken to Bill a while back, I'm not surprised to hear that he won't be standing for Chairman again this year

Having spoken to Bill a couple of weeks befre Nobby, I suspected Bill would not feel well enough to continue in his role as Chairman.

I am glad to hear he is feeling a little better.

    Stick with it Bill.

    All the best

I spoke to Bill on Thursday night and I'm sorry to report that he wasn't feeling so good and has since been taken into hospital to ensure that he has the right care. I read him everyones' good wishes from this thread and he really appreciated everyones' thoughts.

Spoke to Bill tonight. The hospital is working wonderfully. He sounds much better and the doctors are happy with his progress.

He hopes that he might be out and online soon

I rarely frequent the forums and only came on because of the news letter. It was with regret that I read this thread as Bill is as others have said Mr GAGB. My thoughts are with him and wish a speedy recovery.

Just received a call from Bill AT HOME who sounds fantastic - miles better than last time and he says he's not felt this good for ages. He's got considerably better and now feels much more positive.

He's hoping to be back on line in a few days time and promised to visit GAGB when he does.

Many thanks to everyone for the good wishes!

I've been home from hospital for a little over a week now, and I'm finally back online. I'm well on the way to recovery now, but I'm very weak due mainly to muscle wastage resulting from so much time in bed, both at home and then in hospital.

I can't see myself caching for some time yet, except perhaps for the odd cache and dash, but it's great to be on my feet again, and to know that I'm getting a great deal of professional support and should, I hope, make steady progress now.

My apologies to all those whose emails and other messages I haven't responded to during my time offline, but I'm working my way through a backlog of literally thousands of emails, and I hope to catch up with things over the next few days.

Good to see you back on line and up and about. The important part now is to follow instructions and do exactly as the doctors and nurse say, they know what is best for you and your recovery.

Sounds good to me, but I think it'd better wait until I can walk straight whilst sober...
