As Sandvika is stepping down, should there be someone else to represent Open Caching/Terracaching?

Is The Hornet interested is standing?
(Happy to propose if he is!)

Everybody standing is representing Open caching - just as much as they are terracaching, navicaching, and Groundspeaks version!

We're not affiliated with any one listing site, but wish to represent ALL British cachers - irrespective of where they read about - or post their own - caches.... and none of the other listing sites seem to have individual representatives (cue a rush of GS, TC and NC specific nominees... )

Good point from Keehotee, I for one wouldn't want to see "representatives" from every possible listing site, let's keep it general.

As for standing, I'm honoured to be suggested but I don't think I would have the necessary enthusiasm to do the job justice so I must decline. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for that Tim, I'm sure that will reassure the non-gsp members, as most of the committee will be made up of cachers who primarily use gc.com

and I'm sure that your experience this year would have shown that the committee is representing all cachers regardless of listing site.

    Thanks.
As it happens, I (and I'm sure many other candidates) am an open caching user, a navicache user, and a terracache user. Sometimes it pays not to put all your eggs in one basket.....or, indeed, under one username

    LOL...aye I know.

I was think more of the vocal minority, who see giving a GAGB committee member a good kick'in, as just a bit of sport
Fortunately they're very few and hide in the regionals further marginalizing themselves........which is nice

Good luck to the new committee, it's worth it if you can make a difference for other cachers

The nominations are now closed, here is the list of all those proposed, seconded and accepted:

    Dave Edwards-The Wombles
    Tony Pinnington-mongoose39uk
    Lucilla/Mrs B-The Blorenges
    billD
    Keehotee
    stuartp
    drdick&vick
    gazooks

The constitution allows for between 5 and 8 members on the committee so with 8 victims I'm happy to announce that there will be no need for an election process.

So welcome to the committee those new members and welcome back to the rest
