    Default TP7585 - Maughold Head

    Rob, I saw the log for Maughold Head today. The Passive Station database lists it as a surface block, but given the location that seems unlikely, as you say. The sketch probably bears out the Bolt theory too; the accompanying photo is more dramatic than usual, but entirely useless.

    Just noticed Peel Inner Lighthouse Jetty too. That just leaves 25 passives still be added to T:UK by my reckoning. :cheers:

    That may be the same as http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM3W_Peel_Castle_IOM
    I might be able to have a look at Maughold Head in the near future.

    Good stuff, more likely to be a bolt that anything else.

    I may get chance to visit this evening. In the meantime, perhaps this will be of interest;

    Thanks. I got caught up with various motorcycle-related events tonight though, so the visit has been postponed. But watch this space...

    Actually it probably would help - worth taking a copy of it plus sketch. Of course I had no prior plan to visit it: didin't realise it was there til it showed up on the POI en route to the nearby summit. Peel Inner Lighthouse Jetty is also a SB according to the Passives DB, which is daft. There are other examples - whoever compiled it was keen on SBs or didn't know the difference? Or does Surface Block have a wide range of meanings in OS circles?

    I reckon the former. It has certainly happened before, though I can't think of any off hand.
