Thanks - but no thanks. I think last year proved that new blood gets things moving. So I won't stand this year - but would like to propose Jen (Maple Leaf) and second MrsB.

Thanks Richard, but I won't accept this time - too much else going on this year to give it the proper level of commitment it deserves.

I am grateful to John Stead and DrDick&Vick for proposing me and seconding me for election to the Committee. I am happy to accept the nomination, and will now wait with baited wotsit to see whether I am duly returned. Info about me is available at www.terrymarsh.com. Been thinking about this lots.

I agree with Tim, new blood tends to get things moving.

While I'm more than happy to work with the new committee I'm going to decline my nomination to allow an easier election.

Although we never met, I know from my own previous incarnations just how much demand there is on the time of a Chairman of anything, much of which goes unacknowledged, unrecorded and unthanked. So, I'm unthanking the unthank and thanking you...but it's good to know you'll still be around.

    That's two cards marked... h34r:

Thanks for the thought, but given the current 'work' situation and the lack of caching over the last several months, I feel I have to decline.

(But am happy to make suggestions to the committee -in a polite and helpful manner, obviously! )

    Nominations are now closed.

As we have 8 nominations, and 8 places available, these people are now duly elected:

    Dr Dick
    MapleLeaf
    RuberyBlue
    Mongoose39uk
    CountryMatters
    BillD(wwh)
    Jacaru
    Palujia

Thanks to all these for "volunteering".

As we progress some of the ideas and projects which people have been suggesting, we're also going to need help from everyone. An important part this year will be to promote GAGB to other cachers, but we're also looking for people to help on stands, create leaflets and let us know if you can help in other ways. Thanks.

I am a publisher, and used to working with InDesign; leaflet production is not a problem for me, and I have an inexpensive printer available to me in Preston.

Might I suggest, not least because I'm often away and able to pick up emails on my Blackberry or iPhone but not always get good access to the website, that as a Committee we use real email addresses, and correspond on Committee business by email rather than through the forum. Of course, anything for wider consumption can go on the forum, but between ourselves can we create an emailing group, please?

It would help, too, if we could identify ourselves as human beings. I'm Terry Marsh, and my favoured email is countrymatters@gmail.com.

Here's to the next 12 months.

Damn!!! Does this mean we'll have to do five days more than necessary??? Perhaps we can stop five days early in a year's time.

Since there were only 8 nominations for 8 spaces, it's not necessary to put it to the vote and therefore we can declare the result now.

Edited to add: in order to stay in line with the constitution, we'll have a formal transfer between committees on the 29th Nov as per our published timestable.

Brill and thanks again for the welcome. I hope that I can be a great help as a committee member. I think that what I would like to do first is get hold of leaflets to post out with any orders that I get for geocaching stuff. So once they are sorted and printed, get them to me. As for real names etc. I am Daryl Stocker and my favoured email address is daryl@jacaru.co.uk

Looking forward to the next 12 months.

That's a nice mix of 'old hands' and 'new blood' on the committee and 'long time cachers' and 'new cachers' lets wish them well for the year!
