Maybe someone will have some stories and pics from Piratemania IV as well, seeing that it went Mega. Just a thought.

    Default Piratemania

i was a newbie at this event, never knew what to expect but the whole weekend was a blast. Myself, wife, daughter and her boyfriend (all cachers) rented a caravan for the weekend,we arrived friday dinner and was met by loads of pirates all chatty and welcoming.
friday night involved a few pints and a good laugh followed by a little party at our caravan, all were welcome and a good night was had.
saturday was the day of the walk,22 caches i think but the whole walk was a experience as we were in a lovely group.
scenery was spectacular and there were a few watering holes on the route which was a added benifit.
saturday night was again a night of Arrrrrrrrggghhhh pirates drinking and socialising,so much fun,the organiser "pop up pirate" was ever so friendly/helpfull as were all his family and friends, sunday we went into ashbourne and completed the "pointy pirates" which was a blast (you should have seen the muggles faces as hundreds of pirates decended in the square and on a signal pointed towards the sky for 1 min) the late afternoon was more subdued so myself and my wife did a few caches around the area and found ourselfs stuck at a local pub as the food was great, beer great and there were cachers around chatting to us.
All in all a superb weekend and i will definatly be back next year.
i have more pics by the way
