After my Vertical Mile run up Tower 42 nine times at the start of March (see my last Begging Bowl thread for full details), I've now switched my fundraising attentions to http://www.justgiving.com/marathonandon. After two failed ballot attempts to get into the London Marathon, this year I was picked to join around 40,000 others to run the 26.2mile/42.2Km course through London on Sunday April 22nd. Afterwards I have GC39YNT - After the Pain!, for a little bit of a sit down. :coffee:

Training's gone well, with the Adidas Half marathon around Silverstone circuit on Sunday March 11th being polished off in 1:58:02 - better than 9-min miles for the 13.1miles/21.1km+ course. I'm doing all this for The Stroke Association. My father had a series of strokes before he died in 2005, so it's a cause close to my heart.

I'd like to complete my first London Marathon (and only my second marathon after Edinburgh last May - 5:10) in a pretty steady 4:30. So not planning on setting any records this time! My big fear is I'll 'hit the wall' again, as I did in Edinburgh

Any help you're able to send my way, in the shape of motivation, in the shape of cold hard cash, would be hugely appreciated. If you don't like JustGiving.com you can also sponsor me via the not-for-profit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/marathonandon

Thanks very much in advance for any and all support you can give me and the important work of The Stroke Association. Remember the Act F.A.S.T adverts? Those were theirs.
