eMap with USB adapter?

Hi all - has anybody any experience with using a garmin emap with a serial to USB adapter? I have one but dont seem to be able to get mapsource to recognise the GPSr.

I was wondering if I needed different drivers or something?

Hi Jonathan,

It is more likely to be a COM port conflict. I don't know mapsource so can't help with the settings but have a look to see what setting the communications are set up for. If it is the same as GSAK you don't select USB but rather Serial COM Port.

I usually just keep trying each different COM port until you get the right one.

P.S. If you do find the right one and then plug into a different USB port at a later date you will have to change the COM port again!
