Default Nominations for Committee Members 2014/2015

    Hello GAGB Members:

Nominations for GAGB Committee for 2014/2015 will be accepted Saturday-Friday, 8-14 November 2014.

All GAGB members who joined before 1 October 2014, are eligible to nominate another member or second a nomination. Members who have been nominated and seconded are asked to accept or decline their nomination in this thread.

This thread will be closed at the end of the nominations period and anyone who has not been seconded and accepted during this period will not be considered as a candidate for election.

The Election for the Committee will be held during Sat-Fri, 22-28, November 2014

Candidates for the Committee are requested to send their manifesto, photo (passport style, I can crop the photo for you if you need help) and geocaching avatar (if they have one) to me, Michael Malvick (Ladybug Kids), GAGB Independent Returning Officer (
    ladybugs@geocachealaska.org) by midnight, Saturday, 15 November 2014.

After the nomination period has closed, nominee manifestos, photos, and avatars will be posted in a locked ‘Candidates for 2014/2015 Committee Elections’ thread as well as on the ballot so you may read about why each candidate is standing for election and the skills they would bring to the Committee if elected.

A ‘Committee Candidates (2014/2015) - Q&A thread will be open during the week leading up to the election where Members may ask the Candidates about their GAGB goals.

More information about the annual elections can be found in
the GAGB Constitution (Section N) and Seeker issue 22 (and the forthcoming issue 23).

In the meantime, it is critical that you work with your internet service provider (ISP) to white list e-mails coming from the gagb.org.uk, geocachealaska.org and surveymonkey.com domains so you receive election news and ballots.

    At your service,

    Michael Malvick/Ladybug Kids
    GAGB Returning Officer

    P. S. This thread will be reopened on 8 November when the nominating period begins.

There are eight committee seats available, so there is still plenty of room for interested parties to step up and serve GAGB at another level.

Nominees are reminded to send me their manifestoes, passport-type photos (I can do the photo cropping if you need help with that), and avatar. The materials should be sent to ladybugs at geocachealaska dot org. Please include "GAGB" in the subject line.

I would like to thank you for the nomination and being seconded but I have said I would not be putting myself forward for nomination this year. After serving for three years I would like to give someone else the opportunity to be on the GAGB Committee.
I will continue to give my support and help whenever I can. I would like to wish Jen and her team all the best.

I would like to thank all who have supported me over the time and you never know, like Arnie - I could be back!!!

I do, however, recognise that I wrote a lot of code for the new site which will need to be maintained and offer to help support this if required.

Thank you so much to all who voted for me last year and who have nominated and seconded me this year. However, I have decided not to stand again this year.

I have enjoyed the last year on the GAGB committee.
It has been very interesting learning more about GAGB, and how they enhance and play a vital role in Geocaching and support geocachers and land owners in the UK.

I am delighted that I have been able to support and give information to Land Owners, cache owners and cachers in helping to make our countryside and geocaching more accessible for cachers with limited / restricted mobility.

I am still available and happy for people to continue to contact me in the GAGB forums or various other ways.
I will continue to strive to support others in making caching more accessible for all.

    All the best
    Heth aka Cache on Wheels

There are eight committee seats available, so there is still plenty of room for interested parties to step up and serve GAGB at another level.

Nominees are reminded to send me their manifestoes, passport-type photos (I can do the photo cropping if you need help with that), and avatar. The materials should be sent to ladybugs at geocachealaska dot org. Please include "GAGB" in the subject line.

Nominations close at midnight, Friday, 14 November.
