The No's of members is ok. but the caretaker admin would have to email every member for permision to reveal their names. As they would be breaking the privacy policie. For the record I'm Happy to reveal I'm a member. GC.COM user name Mancunian Pyrocacher. GAGB user name Mancunian. Member no 33.
My post is my personal opinion and as such you do not have my permission to quote me outside of these forums!

As Mancunian says above, we cannot disclose who the members are, because at the outset we said we wouldn't.

However, we have had just short of 200 sign up, of which about 100 regularly visit this forum.

We regularly go through and weed out duplicate sign-ups (we have our ways h34r: ) so I guess the actual total of genuine members is probably around 170.

The highest Member No. I've seen on a forum post is over 150, so assuming they're continuous there have to be at least that many of us.

As Mancunian says, the privacy policy doesn't allow the revealing of names, but it would be interesting to know the official number of members.

Edit: Admin beat me to it!

Now if everyone checks their membership number, we'll have a complete list of members!

Some things are disabled, for instance, the members list (because we said we would not reveal this info) and add an event to the calendar (to prevent abuse).

Some people need access to those functions. For example, Admin needs to be able to add events to the calendar. Members logon does not allow them access to add to the calendar but an admin logon does, so you are likely to get that error if you try to do something that your logon does not allow.

Hope taht helps.

So who is member number 1

I see that T&J are only number 2 and 'Admin' is number 14. Just curious as to who is numero uno of the GAGB.

Who are you?

You are Number Six
I am not a number . . .

So, you tell me, who was Number 1 ?

Well, that's all sorted that out then.

(Anyone who hasn't seen The Prisoner series (where have you been) probably shouldn't read below).

Patrick McGoohan was Number Six, and also somewhat bizarrely, Number One.

If the same is true here (as T&J suggest) then whichever user is Number Six is also Number One.

Or maybe not.

Well I'm really confused now :

I didn't understand T&J's posting... even though it contained some text that I wrote earlier in this thread....

Sorry I have never seen the Prisoner Series..... So you are saying that if I find number 6, this will lead me to my goal....

or could this all be a red herring..... you remember Charlie's Angels..... I believe that there is a film out now based on the series... well you never saw Charlie did you? Perhaps its the same with the GAGB.... we'll never see who is number 1.... h34r:

I will keep on looking... though this is more difficult than some multi-caches that I've done.... if I find the answer can I log it as a find

OK, time to fess up and put everybody out of their misery, sorry !

There is no Number 1.

Well there is, it was the account I used to initially set up the software on the server.

We are Number 2 simply because we were the first real account added.

Perhaps we should make Number 1 a Teddy Bear

For that, you may need to visit this cache or maybe just ask Dan or Pid

Better still, check out this thread.

We could use these for clues to caches...

For example my Ziegler Passage cache (now only a virtual ) can be located at

N50* (The Scout).(Wobbly Club-Tim & June)(The Wombles)

W1* (Team Paradise + 1).0 (Third of Omally+1)

Would it upset the co-ordinates to reveal I quite enjoy spending my spare time half-cut?
