We would like to thank everyone who helped out at the Winchester Event and made it such a success. It couldn't have happened without your support.

Special thanks to Paul Blitz, for running the network and writing the cache pages.

To Tim and June for donating the chrystal glasses and bubbly for the photographic competition.

To Omally for helping us set up some of the caches and being an all round "great guy".

To the two HCC staff Jo and Phil who came in at the last minute to help us out with things on the ground.

Particular thanks to the senior managers at HCC for listening to us in the first place and taking on board geocaching in such a positive manner.

Extra special thanks to Mark, The Cat, who drove down from Bradford on Wednesday night, helped us to set up the event in the rain on Thursday and again on Friday, sorted out some technical problems, etc., etc., etc. And more. What a great guy! He also donated an Etrex as a prize and gave away much, much more.

Once again, many thanks to you all.

    David and Debbie

But the biggest thatnks must go to Dave and Debbie The Bramblers. They have been working all hours from the inception of this event to make sure it went well. Even through the problems in the begining they carried on. Thanks guys you did great. I am sure that all that has been learned in this will aid us in the future as more public events are organised. Oh and one last thing We forgot to mention Kev he is a seasonal HCC Ranger who worked like a trooper on the set up days. Thanks Kev.

Yeah, what everyone has already said...and since I forgot to mention it on the cache log, thanks to T&J for organising th Bear Hunt.

It was nice to meet so many of you and put faces to names, and great that you chose a weekend of good weather! We had fun, the muggles had fun, the waterfight was good, the barbie and the night cache were good. In fact, a day not to be beaten.

One question...does anyone know where I can get a big aerial like the NTL truck had on its roof? With my GPSr connected to that, I'd NEVER lose lock in the woods!!!

As all the organisers are quite rightfully getting a big pat on the back we think it is time to thank ALL the caching teams who came along. Without your help in showing the Geomuggles around the whole thing would not have been the great success it was.

From the feedback we received from the Geomuggles as they left you had all done an excellent job and we have no doubt there will be a few new names appearing in cache logs soon.

We were staggered to learn from HCC that the head count for the event was over 1000

To all those campers what an excellant job you all did of clearing the site before you left, sorry we missed most of you on Sunday morning we slept in later than we should and most of you were underway by the time we arrived we wanted to wish you all a safe journey.

Once again thanks to all lets hope this is the first of many.

    Really? Blimey!

I'm sure I won't be saying anything too forward to suggest at times it seemed somewhat quiet - but that can only mean one thing, that they were all out doing what they came for... Geocaching!!

I know that the 12 event caches were very busy all day, so I guess it isn't all that surprising that there were so many people there.

Well done to all involved: the organisers, the cachers, and, of course, the HCC. Great fun, all day, and there has to be another one soon, just so I'll have the opportunity to stay for the BBQ this time (not that I'm shallow and self centred or anything...)

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who helped set up, take down, set caches, escort geomuggles, trash out, man stalls, barbeque, and generally make the weekend into a really great time out for everyone else.

That probably includes *you*, so from me, Thank You for a great weekend.

I'm just glad I knew enough about tents to make life a little easier at the end. (Especially on Sunday morning when a straggler had to be taken down by 3 of us - normally a 4-person job. )

I'm just sorry I couldn't get there earlier, as I'm sure the setting up was quite good fun too. (even if it didn't include a water fight.) :P
