Now that the tea-making poll has run awhile, I thought it might be interesting to see what people's favourite drinks are. Feel free to post and elaborate on your choice.

nothinglike a nice glass of wine at the end of the day to relax.
or even better just bring over the bottle with a straw
I'm with you! I make my own wine so there's a lot to drink. You need one of those big fat straws that they use for slushies...about 4cm in diameter.Originally posted by nobbynobbs@Feb 4 2007, 06:17 AM

The weekend is here...grab the corkscrew and let's go!
Guiderchachi
Home made Hot Chocolate has got to be my Fav drink
though the calories force me to enjoy it only occasionaly
Next on the list would be real coffee with tia maria
Note to self (Must try alcohol with hot choc any ideas anyone)
everyday is tea or coffee <_<
Not only does the caffine drip do it for me, it also scares the Salesmen that visit me at work. One complained that he got the shakes and couldn't sleep ........ and never came back again

Brandy is great in hot choc. So is anything like Baileys, Dooleys, all the other cream ones etc.Originally posted by The Nutters@Feb 9 2007, 02:15 PM

However gin really doesn't work.
Give.me.coffee.....
Although a nice glass of red wine would be nice too
alcohol with choc... well what can't you put with it would be quicker. think liquor choccies!!!
your own bounty bar with malibu
whiskey might be a little harsh...
but brandy would get my vote.
and when can we all try the home made pea pod wine then guiderchachi?
I had to vote tea because that's what I drink mostly
PLUS
A glass of red wine most evenings
BUT
If I'm out "socialising" it's cider
BUT
If it's "extreme socialising" it's vodka with... ... something.
Gin is VERY good in lemon tea (real lemon tea - not Liptons), and vodka's quite good in clear coffee (bedouin style)(the coffee - not the vodka, silly)Brandy is great in hot choc. So is anything like Baileys, Dooleys, all the other cream ones etc.

and it's hard to beat a nice bottle of meths among friends :
I drink a lot of soft drinks, but when out I perfere Champagne.
Hmmmm well I love White Zinfandel, but only the Sutter Home one................OMG it's fantastic!
Oh and don't mind a good pink champagne either!
i'd not turn down any good champagne chance would be a fine thing!
j2o's are quite nice makes a change from water in pubs when i'm driving. though you still have to go a long way to beat a nice cold ringwood best.
Beer in the pub and whisky as a nightcap for me...! Champagne, and indeed any fizzy alcoholic drink, is falling over juice for me since some big ops a few years ago, I'm afraid!

*squeak* *squeak* *squeak* POP! *glug* *glug* *glug*
Mmmmmm Claret.....
I see wine is currently in the lead B)
i dread to ask what the noises were from!!!
Real ale for me! I'm also rather partial to single male Scotch and a nice glass of Merlot. Not at the same time, though!
A thread back from the dead!
Difficult to make a choice of only one because they're a mix of soft drinks and alcoholic ones. I voted for tea because that's my most frequent drink but for other 'social occasions' I usually drink wine
or sometimes cider
never beer/lager...
Sometimes vodka with something...
Grand Marnier is nice sometimes...
What about creme de menthe frappé?
Oh! and I like sloe gin....
<MrsB, with a sense of déja vu, wanders off into an alcoholic daze...>
Cider for me but it has to be good quality
It has been known to influence my bidding on certain Ebay items though
Like Mrs B, I have a difficult time choosing one item.
Mostly Rioja, some malt whisky and very rarely real farm house cider (locally, I can only buy the commercial pasteurised filtered tasteless sweetened alcoholic apple juice).
Can we have polls which allow multiple selections?

Paved Roads: Another fine example of unnecessary Government spending!
Hendricks gin please. Watch with Deal or No Deal life don't get better than that.
Ho hum!
If I'm just socialising, then it's a pint of London Pride of something similar. Occasionally I'll enjoy a pint of Strongbow or a glass of Moondarra Shiraz. At home, on a cold winter's night, a glass of Irish whiskey... Jameson's for just slurping or if I have company then I might just bring out the Tullamore Dew.

Age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
Mornings - 2 large mugs of fresh brewed coffee
At the pub on a Sunday Lunchtime, putting the world to rights - Spitfire/London Pride/Butty Bach/etc (i.e. Real Ale)
Pub quiz league nights - same as above!
Other times in the pub - same as above!!
Thirst quenching - Stowford Press/Knights/Dunkertons (i.e. Real Cider, and living in Herefordshire I'm spoilt for choice )
As an apereritif - Bombay Sapphire and tonic
With a meal or just for glugging - Most red wines (although I do tend to get into trouble on a certain forum if I have too much h34r
As a Nightcap - a good single malt
(I couldn't find a tick box for that lot so I just went with beer )
Love a cup of really strong tea, which I drink too many cups of each day.
Mind you it was a job to choose between that and wine which I drink too many glasses of in the evening
The light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train
I drink tea through out the day, beer if I'm socializing, but there's nothing like a dram of 16yr old Lagavulin.

Just back from France still even with a rubbiosh pound saved over £1.50 per bottle
£54 return on the tunnel and its quick

This week I have been mostly drinking Jaegermeister and tonic!
Weird, but I like it!!
Rampton.
Red wine - preferably a decent Rhone or Chateauneuf du Pape if I have a sudden surplus funds
A decent pint of bitter works well too - Abbott, Gales HSB, London Pride or similar
Life is too important to take seriously !
Must have missed this poll first time round, but have just voted. It's a difficult one 'cos what I fancy depends on the situation, sometimes it's tea or coffee, sometimes wine, sometimes bitter.
In the end I plumped for beer or lager.
Missed by me as well.....
Chilled white wine and an evening with the wife
RB
well, i am one of the boring ones, and voted water.
nothing else has been as apt at the times i have drank it and went : hell yes lush!
Southern Comfort for me, with lots of ice and more Southern Comfort. None of this adding coke or lemonade stuff.
I too missed this first time round...
I'm a complete Tea-a-holic, and until very recently hadn't drunk for about 3 years. Before that I was often seen aorund camping events clutching a bottle of Vodka, and although I HAVE been a friend of the Vodka bottle lately again, I LOVE red wine now!!
Still can't beat a good cuppa... solves every problem known to man!
Now doing small hills!
Still blonde under the hair dye ;-)
without the coffee I would be a zombie
