I've suffered a total pc failure - I'm sending this from my sister's pc, but I
don't know when I'll next have internet access.

There was a long beep then the screen went blank. It won't restart from the
hard drive or from a floppy. The power light on the tower comes on, and the
hard drive light stays full on, but nothing happens. It's a Tiny pc, about 7 years old, and running Win XP.

If anyone's got any suggestions as to the cause I'd be very grateful...!

Edit: sorry about the strange line spacing - I copied and pasted from elsewhere.

    Check the psu

I had a Tiny pc, and they're renowned for putting in undersized - or at least the bare minimum - power supplies.
When mine went I had power to the tower (according to the led) - but there are a few feeds from the psu, so get a voltmeter and make sure you've got a voltage at each output....

    I had a Tiny pc,
but it's not about size so there's no need to be ashamed

Well, I'm back...! The old pc would have been more expensive to repair than it was worth, so I'm now up and running on a "new" refurbished one. And of course it's taking me an age to re-install everything, but at least I've got the basics like broadband, browser and email going.
