Following numerous requests we'd like to announce the availability of new GAGB Cache tags.
A GAGB Cachetag, is a graphical image containing the GAGB logo, and a tagline.
Heres an example:
https://www.gagb.org.uk/cachetag/gagb_tag.php (https://www.gagb.org.uk)
The image is selected at random from those available (currently 2) each image having a different tag line.
To include a GAGB Cachetag image on you're cache page, website, or forum posts simple use the following code.
<a href="https://www.gagb.org.uk">
<img src="https://www.gagb.org.uk/cachetag/gagb_tag.php" alt="GAGB Cache Tag Image" />
</a>At this time, we'd also like to ask for suggestions of other tag lines, obviously the shorted the better.
Cheers

How about a plug for the forum? "Meet us at the Forum" and a link to the forum page

Well done Stuart.
The Yorkshire Caching site has had a banner image linking to The GAGB for a while now, but I'll look at changing it to the new style this week.

Being a real fusspot I know :eek: but would it be possible to have it without the black outline and ideally a tad smaller. I tried adding it to my cache pages and it doesn't look quite right against the logos I use already.

Many thanks Ian. I use basic html but confess to not understanding the code. I have tried what you suggest but get the following result:

Can you advise an html luddite please?:wacko:

Sorry, this works but still has the black outline I'm trying to get rid of, allbeit less bold! :ohmy:
StuartP - I've copied to my GC profile but would prefer to loose the outline before updating my caches; I said I was a fusspot!

Ok, the black outline is part of the image.

I can look at doing a version without this, I'd be interested to hear if any others have thoughts on this ?

Stuart, I can see FollowMeChaps's point, but personally I prefer having the border. Would it be possible to do two versions, one with and one without the border?

Sorry for any misunderstanding - I only ever wanted an alternative version not a replacement.
I've done a DIY to my original request which seems to work - 80% size and no border. Is it ok to use this on my cache pages?

Hi,
If you can give me till tomorrow (Sat) AM I'll hopefully have things setup so you can request images with or without a border.
It's preferable to use our own images as we can then gauge how many caches & profiles are making use of them.
Is size an issue too ? Would being able to choose from 2 sizes help ? The current size, and say a 75% version ?
Cheers

Thanks Stuart, I'll wait before adding the tags to my caches. I can only speak for myself, but I'd certainly prefer a smaller size as per my original post above (https://www.gagb.org.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=17076&postcount=6).
I must say this GAGB service is top notch :socool: - I'm only dreading the bill!!!!

Hi,
Try the following
<a href="https://www.gagb.org.uk">
<img src="https://www.gagb.org.uk/cachetag/gagb_tag.php?border=no&size=small" alt="GAGB Cache Tag Image" border="0" />
</a>
Still some work to do, but should cover your requirement for noborder and a smaller image. Of course over time I'll introduce all combinations for small, large, border and no border.
Cheers

Can someone let me know what html code I need to put multiple logos in a horizontal line across the page
At the moment, mine either appear underneath each other or stuck out in the middle of the page as I can aligned them centrally

Probably in amongst the HTML you have either ...
<br>
or
</p>
remove these between the logo snippets.
If it isn't that, perhaps you could post the relevant code, and someone here will be able to debug it.

:applause::applause::applause::applause::applause:
Thank you for providing so quickly, since I'd suggested it :D
However, I must admit I'm also waiting for the borderless version because I don't want to edit all my cache pages more than once each!
I'd suggest that borderless is really the only way to go because this looks reasonably tidy amongst a mish-mash of images/logos of different sizes whereas the border just makes it look like a badly sized tile.
Thanks :socool:

Since we've had discussions about promoting the GAGB, time to give this a bit of a bump.
Suggestions for improvements welcome, I'm looking at borderless.

Actually very timely, since I will be removing the G:UK rating links (RIP) and can replace them with a nice borderless GAGB image instead.

I use the one above on two of my caches. Is there any chance of a full width banner type to go into the short description area of the cache description ? it could have extra info inside it ?

I've neglected to respond to those requesting additional features from cache tags.
However I'd like to ask if anyone has additional suggestions, hopefully I'll be able to add these features over the coming weeks.
Thanks

I'd be interested to hear any thoughts people have about cachetags as above, are they in use.
Could we expand whats on offer to better suit cache listings pages ?

There's several changes in the pipeline so that can be added to the list :)

If you can shrink it to 140pixels wide, and e-mail it me I'll look at getting the current on-line tags updated.
