2025/2026 GAGB Executive Committee Elections
Information and a timetable for this year’s GAGB Chair & Executive Committee elections are set out below.
All GAGB members are eligible, and encouraged, to participate (stand, nominate, vote). As long as you are an ‘active’ member (defined as having interacted with us at some point in the last three years), you will receive a ballot to your registered email. Inactive members are able to request one after that.
This year, there will be two elections. One for the position of Chair, and another for the eight Committee Member posts. Each candidate needs to receive two nominations from active members to be valid, and the nominee must ‘accept’ the nomination in the forum thread by the due date.

Nominations
Nominations shall be made using the forums. There will be a dedicated thread, within which members can post and second nominations, as has always been the case. The thread will be found here.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, nominations can be submitted via email to elections@gagb.org.uk. This inbox will be checked at least once per day, and all email nominations will be posted in the forum thread, either by the Indepenent Returning Officer or an Administrator.
Nominations need to be seconded prior to the nominee accepting or declining. A member wishing to second a nomination can either post in the forum thread or email elections@gagb.org.uk. As with the initial nominations, all seconds received via email will be posted in the thread.
Those wishing to nominate via email must provide their GAGB username in order to verify whether a nomination is valid.

Caching Greetings All!!!
Just a short little introduction from your "new" IRO. I was approached to fulfill this role for your 2025/2026 Elections that will be taking place shortly.
I am a fellow cacher from South Africa - cincol - and have been caching since 2007 with just over 3200 finds around the world. I'm not a "numbers" person, but rather go for quality vs quantity. However, if you ask Stoke Bunnies about our desert caching days I'm sure that he might have a different opinion!
I have placed [I believe the lingo used in the Blighty is "set"] 363 caches around the world. I'm an ardent EarthCacher and will go out of my way to visit an EC. My current country count is far below the number of countries that I have visited as I only started caching late in life.
I retired from my full time profession around 10 years ago after spending 10 years living in Doha, Qatar. I now keep myself busy as a free-lance ESG compliance auditor working in sub-saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, which takes me to some interesting places. Sadly many of these places are devoid of cahes!
I'm looking forward to assisting you with the upcoming elections.
Cheers
Peter
