    Default Chair Manifesto

    Manifesto for Election to Chair
I've been a geocacher since 2009, mostly concentrating on setting and solving mystery caches. I have cached all over the world, and spent 2 years in Qatar, driving round the desert in temperatures reaching 53C, to find caches.

Having been a GAGB Friend since 2018, an Area Rep since 2020, and an elected Committee Member since 2022, I believe I now know enough about the workings of the GAGB to stand for Chair. I have managed the GAGB Landowner Agreement Database (GLAD) since I was elected to the Committee, as well as being Friends and Reps Co-ordinator for the last 2 years. The GLAD is an important role on the Committee, and the main reason the GAGB was originally set up in 2003.

Now elected, my vision for the next 2 years would be:

    • To continue the good work started by the previous Chair, Arthur Griffiths, who will be missed.
    • To lead, encourage and assist an enthusiastic team on the Committee. The current members are already very enthusiastic, and I hope they would continue on the Committee.
    • To continue the good relationships the GAGB have with other Geocaching groups.
    • To investigate ways and means of modernising the GAGB website and Forum, which I believe the younger elements in Geocaching find a little old-fashioned.
    • To attend as many GAGB Roving Events, and as many Mega events, as possible.
    • To encourage more participation from other parts of the UK
    • To continue to foster a good relationship with the UK Volunteer Reviewing Team.
    • To continue and encourage GAGB fund raising, whether through the Shop or by other means.
    • To adapt to any new, and some of the old, changes made by Geocaching HQ.

I'm sure there will be other things that will challenge the GAGB during the course of the next 2 years, and we can hopefully overcome them.

    Chris Warren (Stoke Bunnies)

Congratulations Chris, very well deserved. Good bye Arthur, like Chris said, you'll be missed.

Well done Chris, or is it commiserations. LOL.
Hopefully the current committee members will re-stand if nominated.
