Durham CC covers the sites listed on these pages; most are suitable for caching and applications can be made for any of them:
Picnic Areas
Railway Paths
Nature Reserves
This agreement only covers the land on the countryside webpages listed above, and not any green space in Durham.

GAGB guidelines will be required as rules for these locations.

Application Process

Once the potential cache location has been identified then the cacher should email the GPS coordinates and a short location description to Countryside Service. In addition to contact details on the geocache, DCC will need a direct contact number for each cache in case of later problems.

Countryside Service will then contact the appropriate local Ranger and they will check the location. They may refuse, accept or suggest alternative locations.

Permissions are issued via email, the cache may then be placed and submitted for listing.

Caches will be kept under review.
