Description

The Forestry England West District is sub-divided into three areas: 

• West – South
• West – Central
• West – North

It is unclear exactly where the boundaries split but a map showing the region as a whole can be seen here.

The South area includes Bristol, the Mendips, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and some of Dorset.  Central and North includes Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and some of Staffordshire.

Application Process

To enable the Beat Rangers to check locations as quickly as possible, the location you require must be in  What3Words, as well as the normal geocaching format, a converter is available on the Geocaching Toolbox here,

There is now one online form covering all areas of the West Of England.  It can found here

Q8 – Pick from list.  If the forest you would like is not showing, please select one closest, and then add the Forest Name in Q12

          Co-ordinates in DD MM.MMM
          Co-ordinates in What3Words format (Conversion available here )

          Q13b – One year after permission granted
          Q13c – Just once, on any day, after permission granted

Q15 – In the nearest available parking spot, which may be in a FE Carpark, but could be in a space on a nearby road
