Our photo competition ran between November 2017 and March 2018. We received 57 valid entries, all of which were fantastic.
Photos had to adhere to the theme, ‘Cache with a View’, and be taken at or near a geocache in the UK. The purpose of the competition was to find a new website header image/masthead. So, something that not only looked great but could fit the webpage and take our logo well.
The GAGB committee served as judges. All photos were judged anonymously. There was one round of blind voting to create a shortlist, and the final winners were decided during an online meeting.
Congratulations to the winners:
FIRST PLACE: Gareth Williams (welshman68) - a view across Three Cliffs Bay, Gower. A fantastic photo that’s perfect for a header image.
SECOND PLACE: Isaac Ogden (heartradio) - a view towards High Willhays, Dartmoor. This is the highest point in the UK south of the Brecon Beacons. A brilliant photo.
THIRD PLACE: Jenn Hill (Jennthefunkyranger) - a lovely photo taken in the Cheviot Hills, Northumberland.
Ten additional photos have been recognised as ‘Highly Commended’. Well done to:
Colin Howie (CaptainMowser)
Andrew Halling (Andrew & Barbara)
Natasha Fenwick (Fishy12)
Emma Bowley (emmakeeling)
Katie Beverley (Guiding Nutter)
Everyone who submitted a photo, irrespective of their placing in the competition, was entered into a prize draw. The winner of the prize draw is Andrew Halling (Andrew & Barbara).
Congratulations once again to all the winners and thanks to everyone who entered.
