Worth Way runs between Crawley and East Grinstead, we also own a section of Forest way which extends from East Grinstead out to Turners Hill.

Application Process

Please contact the countryside team via the email address above BEFORE the geocache is placed. Please supply accurate GPS coordinates and a description of the container type and hide so that the request be passed onto the site ranger to review the possible placement.. Each placement must meet the conditions below.

Conditions of placement

No items of food or drink of any kind should be placed in the cache.
Caches must not be buried, and holes must not be dug in order to place a cache.
Caches must not be hidden in animal holes or runs.
Cache containers must not be placed inside a polythene bag.
Fences should never be crossed when placing or seeking a cache.
No caches should be of a commercial nature, either in location or content.
Maintenance of the cache is the responsibility of the placer.
Please do not bring geocaching into disrepute, never drive your car anywhere other than on the highways and byways, and always park sensibly in approved places only.
When leaving the cache site, after finding or hiding a cache, there must be no visual sign of disturbance.
ensure the cache container is clearly marked, stating that the content is harmless and giving the placer’s e-mail address or other contact method.
no cache may be placed in such a way as to risk damage or disturbance to any Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) or Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM)
no items of food or drink of any kind should be placed in the cache
no lighters, matches, flammable or sharp objects should be placed in the cache
trees, plants, fences, walls and other features should never be damaged when placing or seeking a cache
failure to follow these guidelines may result in permission being withdrawn and your geocache being removed

Some of West Sussex County Council’s sites have sensitive areas which we would not want people accessing across, particularly at certain times of year, for example when ground nesting birds are present. We would also want to avoid caches that may cause people to climb on historic features or structures. West Sussex County Council recognise that Geocaching is a low impact, fun activity that attracts people to our sites and are keen to support it with agreement of the conditions above.
